FAQs

How much will it cost to have my own design created for my stationery?
You will need to pay us £100 up front before we create any bespoke artwork. However, if you then proceed to order your wedding stationery from Sun Pennies, we will deduct £50 of this fee from your final payment. So actually, it’ll only cost you £50 in total.
What if I don’t like the design or want to make changes?
The initial £100 covers our artist’s time in making your painting, so in the unlikely event that you don’t like it, we cannot refund this money. Regarding changes, we can make minor tweaks to a painting - though depending on how extensive these are, we may need to make an additional charge. No work will be undertaken without first discussing the anticipated costs with you and receiving your approval to proceed.
What will I receive if I request my own design?
First of all, you’ll receive a .pdf of the design via email for you to approve. And after you’ve ordered your stationery, we will produce a mounted print of your painting for you as a memento to keep. You can also order extra prints if you like... they make lovely presents for parents/ushers/bridesmaids and other important people.
Who owns the copyright of any designs created?
All designs are copyright of Sun Pennies. By agreeing to our terms and conditions you, or a third party, cannot copy or reproduce designs in any part or way. This also applies to samples ordered.
How much are the actual invitations and other cards?
It’s impossible to answer this one clearly, as there are so many variables in a stationery order. What we can say though is that card prices generally range from £2.50-£4.00 each, depending on how many you want and whether you go for more than one category of stationery (e.g. invitations and RSVP cards).
Can I order samples of invitations?
For a small charge of £2.50 (to cover postage and packing) we’ll send you a sample of our invitations, so that you can see the quality of card we use to produce your stationery.
If I use one of Sun Pennies’ existing designs, do I still see a proof of my stationery?
Yes of course! We’ll fit your wording into your chosen design and then send you a .pdf via email for you to approve.
How do I order from Sun Pennies?
We realise that arranging a wedding is extremely stressful and time consuming, so we want to make the process of ordering your stationery as quick and simple as possible. If you’re sure of what you want, you can go straight to the Ordering page and fill in the forms there, or - if you need more help - click the Contact us link. Angela will then contact you by telephone, at a time convenient to you, to discuss your ideas and requirements before producing a free, non-obligation quotation and mock invitation for your approval.
How long before the wedding should I place my order?
Invitations are usually sent between 2-3 months before the wedding. If you’re ordering any of our existing designs (i.e. anything in our Gallery), you should allow 4 weeks for your stationery to be ready. If, however, you’re commissioning your own painting, please allow another 3-4 weeks on top of this.
When do I need to pay for my order?
Once you have actually placed your order with us, we will need a deposit of 50% of the total amount before we can begin work on producing your stationery. This deposit can be paid by cheque or by bank transfer and is non-refundable. Once the order is ready, we will contact you - and the remaining balance must be paid before we dispatch the order to you.
Can I place my order in stages?
Yes you may. For example, you could order save the date cards initially and then decide on the rest of your stationery closer to the actual wedding date. Or you could order your invitations and RSVP cards first, then menus, orders of service, place cards and other ‘on the day’ items nearer the time of the wedding.
